Vale Dave “Nightowl” Ridoutt
Just to let you all know on Sunday 19th December, 2021, my oldest friend Dave “Nightowl” Ridoutt passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with cancer. We had a beer together before his passing so maybe the coopers put him over. He was still cracking jokes.
We had been lifelong mates for 48 years. Dave was working for Phil Manning when we met and then moved on to Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons and then toured with CLS. He leaves behind a beautiful daughter Ruby.
If it wasn’t for Dave there would be no ARCA Desk Tape series. His old desk tapes we sat and listened to for years and so I started the DTS and found old desk tapes from the boys.
Dave was a Surf Lifesaver, went to Armadale High and then Wesley College in WA.
In his life he did so many things for others and was always there to support many, whether it was helping them or putting them in a coma…..LMAO NOVA comes to mind…eh Gruzzle? Dave was one of the pioneers of the Aussie music industry doing sound.
For all of you who knew Dave remember all the funny shit.
He did ask for no one to ring as he wont be returning calls. Please don’t grieve for Dave but be grateful we have all been part of his journey. So travel safely old mate, have a safe journey and will catch up again. Lotsa love and memories. Always in our hearts.
